1955 - 1962 

First Irish field force developed in Ireland as part of a UK licensing arrangement with pharmaceutical Company Pfizer. This established a Sales base and a product range in Ireland.

Boehringer Ingelheim Ireland incorporated in the UK Business Unit. An arrangement was set up whereby Ciba Geigy manufactured and distributed products for BIL UK. Geigy had an arrangement with Antigen in Ireland so that from that time Antigen were distributing BI products in the whole of Ireland.

1969

Local Manager appointed to manage the whole of Ireland.

1972

A new distribution Agreement set up with Antigen with Boehringer Ingelheim Ireland now as Principal.

1973

Boehringer Ingelheim acquires WB pharmaceuticals.

1978

Animal Health Division established.

1989

Actilyse used for dissolving blood clots associated with heart attacks and pulmonary embolism; treatment of
acute stroke.
